The full checklist

Read the sequence before starting. Follow each step only when its preparation and branch conditions are met.

  1. Remove bones, toothpicks, large food pieces and excess grease. Exclude non-dishware, wood and items not confirmed dishwasher-safe; pretreat burned-on or starchy soil appropriately.

  2. Place bowls and pans facing the spray, with cups and concave bases angled to shed water. Keep dishes separated rather than nested and secure light items.

  3. Place large items in the lower rack. Keep tall baking sheets away from the vent hole and load these on the right side as described on page 16.

  4. Keep utensils from protruding through racks and leave the detergent-tab tray free of utensils or manually placed tablets. Tablets go in the detergent dispenser.

  5. Push the upper rack fully to the back so its spray-arm supply connects. With power isolated, gently check that both arms clear the load; never force an arm.

  6. After the wash is complete and cool, compare cleaning and pooled water in the adjusted areas. Unload the bottom rack first to avoid drips from above.

When to stop

  • Stop using the dishwasher for smoke, a burning smell, damaged wiring, an active leak or water near electrical equipment. Isolate power and water only from a safe, dry, accessible location; otherwise keep clear and request qualified help.
  • Do not remove the pump cover, reach into the pump, open electrical panels, bypass the door interlock or move the installed dishwasher. Refer plumbing connections, installation and repairs to qualified service.
  • Stop if a part is cracked, jammed, sharp, insecure or different from the matching manual. Do not force a fitting or touch hot water. Never mix cleaning products.
Every check and possible next step

Start at “Are all items suitable household dishwasher-safe ware?”. Choose only what you observed. An unobserved condition is its own answer.

Are all items suitable household dishwasher-safe ware?

Are all items suitable household dishwasher-safe ware?

Unmarked plastics and delicate or mixed-material items need their own care guidance.

Steps for this check: 1.

  • Every item is confirmed suitable
Continue to Are item interiors open to spray with no nesting?.
  • An unsuitable or unconfirmed item remains
Observation still needed — This check is not complete. A condition you have not observed is still unknown. Save the record and return when the preparation and observation can be completed safely; ask support if safe access is uncertain.

Tall trays belong away from the vent; the tab tray is not a storage pocket.

Steps for this check: 3, 4.

Continue to Does the fully returned upper rack allow both arms to turn freely?.
  • A tall item or utensil still blocks a path

How did the arranged load wash and drain from its item recesses?

Record the actual result after a complete cycle, not merely the prewash layout.

Steps for this check: 6.

  • The adjusted areas are clean with less avoidable pooling
Observed result recorded — You recorded a clear load layout and its completed-wash result. This is your observation, not independent confirmation of the appliance condition.
  • Residue or pooling remains in the same areas
Observation and next step recorded — A result remains despite the loading correction. Use the food-residue or drying task with these observations; the load check does not diagnose an internal part.
